The GO Community Center is very important to the future of volleyball in Edmonton. You can get some more information about it by going to: www.gocentre.com.  It is a non-profit organization that will be funded by a lot of government money (at all 3 levels) but is also dependent on private donations. If you want to make a private donation you can get a tax receipt for the donation. The MWRVS executive has decided that it is very important that we show our support for the center. It is extremely likely that we will be playing in the facility once it is built. So once it is built we will be supporting the facility by paying rent to use it. Until that time we will be collecting a $100 per team levy and donating it to the GO Center.

If we do this for 3 years the total amount will be less than $30,000 which is less than 0.1% of the total cost to build the facility. Note that this does not give us ownership, but MWRVS is also involved in setting up the organizations that will be running the volleyball program at the GO Center.

This can be thought of as giving back to the community, but remember that this facility will become the Home of Volleyball in Edmonton. It will be big enough to hold our entire year end tournament in one building! It is important that we be a part of it from its very beginning.
